Inkiln

Terms

effective October 6, 2026 · plain language, and binding

These terms are between you and Jayde Russell, who runs Inkiln. By using Inkiln you agree to them. If something here is unclear, write to access@inkiln.app.

Early access

Inkiln is in early access: accounts are by invitation, and it is free. A paid plan will follow. You’ll be told about it, and about its price, before anything is charged, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

Your writing is yours

You own everything you write in Inkiln. We claim no rights to it. You let us store it, back it up, and process it only as needed to run Inkiln for you, including sending short passages to our AI provider when you choose the AI analysis. That permission ends when you delete your account. We never sell your writing, and it is never used to train AI.

Inkiln never writes for you

Inkiln has no feature that generates prose, plot or ideas, and never will. Its AI only reads what you have written, to keep your story bible and canon straight. In the same spirit, you agree not to use Inkiln to publish prose generated by AI.

Using Inkiln fairly

You agree not to use Inkiln for anything unlawful, not to try to reach anyone else’s account or writing, not to disrupt or overload the service, and not to share your invitation or account for others to use as their own. We may suspend an account that does these things, and will tell you why.

Your account

You sign in with passkeys, and you are given recovery codes once. Keep them safe: if you lose every device that holds your passkeys and every recovery code, we cannot get you back in.

If you leave, or Inkiln closes

You can download everything and delete your account at any time. A deleted account is removed 30 days after you ask, unless you sign in again before then. If Inkiln ever closes, you’ll have at least 90 days’ notice, and everything stays downloadable until then.

Early access comes as it is

We work hard to keep Inkiln running and your writing safe, but during early access it is provided as it is, without guarantees, and features may change. Keep your own copies: the download exists for exactly that. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and the law

If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, except where the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be taken away.
